Beautiful people...pretty people...gorgeous people...are boring.

It's simple to compose a shot, place in a beautiful person and take a picture and have people say "wow, what a great photo." Now, try the same shot and pose with a person who cannot be described in the sense of classic beauty. The reaction will be completely different with a "well it's an okay photo I guess".

So you have to think about it, what can I do to make this photo stand out and have the wow factor of a photo with a beautiful person in it? Do I create a mood, try to tell a story? Create contrast?

So the point is I don't see people as beautiful or ugly. I view them as something more complex more like a puzzle that needs to be solved or a blank canvas there to be worked with and made into something striking.
